Grace: Definition and Explanation
the gift and Grace of God

What Grace is All About
When I decided to write this hub, it took me awhile. This i a subject I can on for days about but sometimes can’t find the words to describe what it means to me in a few paragraphs. I guess I should write a book about it. The grace of God is something very special. There are many words that relate to it but really not a single one. Words that come to mind are love, forgiveness, mercy etc. Please bare with me as I try to write what this means to me.
The definition of grace according to the dictionary defining the kind of grace I am talking about is mercy; clemency; pardon: In other words, it is forgiving one’s mistakes and sins. Only God can do this because it is against Him we commit them. Sin has kept us out of heaven and condemned us to death.
Romans 3:23 says “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Everyone sins every day.
Romans 3:9 “What shall we conclude then? Are we any better? Not at all! We have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under sin.”
Ephesians 2:5 “Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)”
So if grace is what saves us we need to know what that is. We already have concluded what it is by definition in the Dictionary and I have shared some verses that help define it but what exactly is it to me/
Well let me tell you. Without grace none of us would be standing here. Without God’s grace, Adam and Eve would have died right in the garden with their first sin. Without God’s love for us, we wouldn’t even exist.
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world (us) that He gave HIS ONLY SON…”
We see this verse so many times that is becomes nothing to us. We become immune to what it really means. This verse in a sense is the meaning of His grace. He loves us so much that He sent His son hear to suffer and die that we might have eternal life. He wants us to find Him and join Him in Heaven when we die.
We, as Christians, get so caught up in our daily lives that we forget the most important thing of all. God’s love for us. It is so infinite that there is no way in words we can describe. We can feel it and be overwhelmed by it, but there just aren’t the words to define what GOD’s grace really is.
By God’s grace, I am saved and know that where I am going after my life leaves my body. By God’s grace, I can write this. However, for me, it is so overwhelming that I just cannot put words down that would sufficiently explain what it is. I love you Lord and thank You for your infinite grace and love.
