After 7 years of isolation without sunlight, fresh air or proper medical care. The U.K. violated his rights in so many ways, it is close to impossible to name them all.
The question I would like to raise to authorities in The UK is this. Why is Assange incarcerated in a high security prison like Belmarsh which has been coined “Britain’s Gitmo”? (Plus he remains in solitary confinement for 23 hours of the day.)
Julian Assange is an intellectual. He is a journalist and a man of class. He is an innocent man. He is not a violent offender or even a thief. He simply published documents in the public interest. In doing so, he faces torture and the death penalty by extradition to the United States. He sought asylum for that very reason. Your breaching bail charge isnt even legal because the allegations from Sweden were dropped. This is being done for political reasons and to score brownie points with the U.S. government.
The U.K. has proven by jailing Assange alongside terrorists, murderers and rapists its very judicial system is corrupt and unjust. Instead of setting a standard for others to follow, they have sunk lower than any democratic government can go.
Julian Assange exposed a mass murderer. Instead of protecting him, the U.K. chooses to bow to the one who committed this crime. It is despicable and downright tyrannical on the British government’s part. There is no justice when telling the truth, only incarceration for the truthtellers.
